killy is torontos next superstar

If you’re looking for an artist who consistently drops banger after banger then you don’t need to look any further than KILLY, the Toronto born superstar in the making. With a voice meant for autotune and an undeniably unique flow KILLY is able to body every track he puts out, something rare in the 2019 hip-hop scene.

Following his breakout album “Surrender Your Soul” which brought hit singles “Killamonjaro” and “No Sad No Bad” KILLY debuted his most recent album “Light Path 8”, a project filled with tracks that show the clear level up he has achieved over the past year.

The tracks Elixir, Evil Eye and Simulation each showcase the diversity KILLY brings to the table while Destiny proves the effortless hit making ability that we’ve seen from him so many times before. Alongside Destiny is a video that brings the songs to life with trippy visuals and the KILLY vibe we’ve come to love.

Shortly after the Light Path 8 release Killy announced his signing to Epic Records after a second meeting with newly appointed chairman and CEO Sylvia Rhone. With names like Drake, Travis Scott, Future and Lil Wayne all having been signed to the label its only right Epic was the choice KILLY made, one that is going to pay dividends in the coming years. Talking to Billboard about the newly inked deal he stated “When I was first blowing up, I went to see all the labels. Epic was obviously one of them. But at that point in time, it just didn’t feel like the right time in general. Fast forward two years later, we met again with all the labels and I just really felt that Epic really supported what I’m doing and not try to change it and just add to it. They’d let me be the artist I want to be.”

They better let him be the artist he wants to be because his social media and behind the scenes vlog content coupled with consistent fire music and wild shows make for the superstardom recipe into 2020 and beyond. While being one of the, if not the, most underrated artist throughout 2019 it’s only a matter of time before the hip-hop mainstream is riding the KILLY wave.

Follow KILLY on Instagram and Twitter and be sure to check out his “Secret Files” episodes to get a behind the scenes look at what goes into creating his music and crafting his persona. You can Stream Light Path 8 on all platforms and catch him in concert with Young Thug and Machine Gun Kelly in the coming months.
